Living Well Faith Settings:

A set of toolkits, designed and illustrated for the NHS and Bradford Council. The toolkits are aimed at Muslim faith settings, encouraging healthy lifestyles through diet and physcial exercise. The illustrations needed to reflect the community in a family-friendly way, and the design required breaking down huge amounts of text to make it reader-friendly and easy to navigate.

Fee Fi Fo Yum!:

A 60-page recipe book aimed at children aged 7+, which also includes some activities and journalling pages.

My Work on This Project:

- Writing and developing the content

- Illustration and design for the complete book

This book was one of my favourites to work on, to date! I enjoy cooking and baking, and have always got my two children involved in the kitchen, from a very young age. So being able to develop my recipes into a book and share that knowledge was an absolute delight. The feedback on this book has been wonderful, with parents sharing images of their children creating recipes from the book and developing valuable life skills in the kitchen.

Campfire Tales & Campfire Kit:

A 44-page fully illustrated storybook, made up of three short stories. Aimed at children aged 7+.

The book was part of a ‘Campfire Kit’ - a gift box which contained essential items to set up a campfire - from hot chocolate sachets, packets of Nutella, marshmallows, and recipe cards. The book is now sold as a standalone book, and is paired well with Fee Fi Fo Yum!, making the beginnings of a series.

My Work on This Project:

-Project management of gift box, including budgeting, curating items, writing, illustrating and designing instructions, recipe cards, and associated social media posts, and illustrating and designing the storybook.

- Illustration and design for the complete book

- Writing one of the stories based on a draft provided by a colleague

Despite having only a couple of weeks to illustrate and design this book, I was fully able to go wild on the foresty/botanical theme that I so enjoy drawing, making this one of my favourite book projects to work on!

The Adventures of Adam & Anisah Series

A series of 3 picture books, 3 activity books, and 1 colouring book, with two further books in progress. Aimed at children aged 5+.

My Work on This Project:

- Illustration and design for all books, which can be found at i2astore.com

- Writing content for the activity books, which are on average around 30 single or double-spread activities per book.

This series of books was my first true venture into children’s book illustration. The author wanted a very specific look, and despite me being very clear about not having that skillset at the time, she took a gamble on me and allowed me the room to experiment, learn and grow with each book. Take a look at the development of Anisah on the last image!

Barakahville Product Design

Illustration and design for a variety of products, for With A Spin

My Work on This Project:

- Illustration and repeating pattern design for pyjamas and wrapping paper

- Vector illustration for the Barakahville advent calendar

- Design and illustration on a variety of greeting cards and planners

Something very different for me, working on the design of a range of products. These were primarily vector-based illustrations, and had the extra challenge of working to a limited colour palette. Seeing pictures of my work coming to life through physical products in people’s homes is always such an honour, particularly in this case with the products being sold as Ramadan and Eid gifts.
